bees and lightness, the Alexander McQueen's Spring

“The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period. It’s about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them.” Sarah Burton

And is precisely in the name od Lightness that the Alexander Mcqueen's Spring Womens parade opens. Not butterflies but bees rapresent the nature rebirth, woven jacquart, silk organza peel away from models' skin, closed in corsets and cages that remind hives. From moulded resin boustier to mid-calf lenght skirt and panelled trousers. Yellow and red flowered dresses rustle on a honeycomb runway we can't do nothing else but admire and renew our passion for fashion house Alexander McQueen!
